Pony AI Secures Permit for Driverless Robotaxi Services in Shanghai

We celebrate a major milestone as Pony AI secures a groundbreaking permit to operate fully driverless robotaxi services in Shanghai’s Pudong financial district. Announced on July 26, 2025, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), this approval positions Pony AI as the only company with permits for driverless commercial robotaxi services across all four of China’s tier-one cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
